Born and living in Madrid Ana Solanas first interest in art began at a very young age, and she has been painting ever since.

Solanas traveled the world living in different countries. Her work is influenced by the numerous cultures she has encountered.

Despite graduating in entrepreneurship and licensed in law for the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Spain, she has achieved her work with art studies starting up History of the Arts at the Louvre in Paris.

Tell us about your nominated artwork

I created this artwork based on my personal need to have moments of introspection into the 4 cardinal points of my soul. This painting reflects one of these moments of self-reflection. With each of my artworks I try to recreate or make a reflection of a key moment in my life and this is one of them. The painting could lead to confusion at first, making someone believe that there are 5 people in the painting. However, these 5 people represent the same person looking inside ones self for reflection.

How would you feel if you would win

I would feel very proud and thankful. I would be very happy as I would feel I can transmit feelings similar to those I feel before the work of other artists. For me it is not just a passion but a way of life and this makes me feel that I am not alone. For me it would be a professional milestone but I hope it is not the last. Step by step the road is paved. My utmost wish is to be promoted at the highest level.

It would be a great source of pride and satisfaction for me to achieve one of my goals that I have put so much effort in. Regarding being surrounded by the international press and elite of the art world, I think I would find it very comfortable since I have been exhibiting internationally for several years now.

When do you know your artwork is finished

I consider myself a sensitive and empathetic person. I always try to convey my feelings and my momentum in my works of art. I do not have two equal works of art since, as in life, they are in continuous evolution. I am very meticulous and for me every piece of work is not finished until it is perfect to my understanding. I have several artworks of many years without finishing yet.

Touch people with my work and be a source of inspiration for others. Selfishly speaking, I am also moved by the power of expressing myself freely. That is the real reason I started from the beginning.

Art expresses what the artist feels.

Lately I am entering a new stage where I find inspiration in artists that until now, I had not considered. Specifically in Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. They are a clear example of my inspiration and of how my works of art are going to evolve from now on. Just as in life, my works go by stages.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time

I don’t know where life is going to take me. I hope I will find new sources of inspiration that will make me evolve and I hope to make the right decisions that make my works of art "great".

Fu Wenjun - Digital Pictorial Photography. Nominated Global Art Awards 2018

Fu Wenjun（傅文俊）, Chinese contemporary artist, was graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. He creates principally through the art media of photography, installation, sculpture and oil painting. Fu Wenjun has developed his unique fine art photography style: Digital Pictorial Photography (数绘摄影).

With his Digital Pictorial Photography, Fu Wenjun turns away from the recording function of photography commonly acknowledged by the public, and aims at exploring to place photography art in dialogue with other art media, like Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture etc, as a result to widen the boundary of photography art in the current digital age.

His solo exhibitions were presented at National Art Museum of China, Museu Europeu de Arte Moderno, Guangdong Museum of Art etc.

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards?

This time for the Global Art Awards, two pieces of my artworks are nominated, entitled separately “Dubai Fish” and “Origin”. They are fine art photography artworks presented in an innovative and pioneering style of Digital Pictorial Photography that I put forward. In the Digital Pictorial Photography artworks, apart from the aesthetical beauty you could feel easily from the image, while creating the works, I consciously to express some of my thinking and reflection and on the global or regional history, culture, human life and so on. After I went back from an exhibition held in Dubai, I created the work “Dubai Fish”: fish, water and the city landscape surrounding by deserts leads to think over and over again， if human is capable to change the aspect of nature, could he change also the essence of nature existed for hundreds and thousands of year on the planet?

How does it make you feel that you are a nominee for the Global Art Awards?

In April 2018, for the first time my works of Digital Pictorial Photography were shown in Dubai on the occasional of World Art Dubai art fair. Many people told me that your works were fascinating and very interesting. Some were curious about how the works were created because they never saw this sort of artworks before. People always have the same reaction when my works presented no matter in my home country China, or overseas, like the USA, Spain, Germany, Italy. In 2017, two solo exhibitions were held by National Art Museum of China (Beijing), one of the most influential art museums in China, and Museu Europeu de Arte Moderno (Barcelona), one of the most important museums in Europe. Several pieces of my Digital Pictorial Photography artworks are among their permanent collection. In the upcoming October 2018, an American art organization will present another solo exhibition of my Digital Pictorial Photography. I believe the unanimous acknowledgement of my art from art museums and the public is not occurred by chance. I am a confident nominee for the Global Art Awards.

What drives you?

Well, in short, is the passion for art that drives me, a lasting even growing passion. In China most male citizen take retirement at the age of sixty. In Chinese culture, sixty years are regarded as a circle of life, which means after the accomplishment of sixty years old, one step into another stage of life. For me, I have no willing to get retired at all. But on the contrary, I can’t stop myself spending day by day to do my art. My experience, knowledge, insight acquired from the past has become a treasure and inspiration for the creation. More and more passion drive me to do better, and make me believe sometimes even the rest is a waste of time.

How do you deal with artist's block?

I think every artist will encounter the same problem of block, even the best ones like Picasso. Personally when I realize it, I will not insist any more. Change the mind, do something make me feel relax, like watching movies, taking a walk. Or even go to have a trip, visit some places interest me for a long time. Sometimes I will also read books of art history or catalogs of great artists. Give yourself enough time to get completely relax, and then you will be filled with energy to break through the block and create something wonderful.

Where do you see your art going in ten years?

There is no doubt in the ten years I will continue to work on contemporary art, especially Digital Pictorial Photography. I always believe photography as art, has great potential and possibility in art creation. Many people have not realized it maybe because photography has been so widely and commonly acknowledged as a tool to record our world, especially in current days almost everyone has a smart phone to take photos. Currently I focus on placing photography art in dialogue with other art media, like Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture etc, so as to widen the boundary of photography art in the current digital age. My latest Digital Pictorial Photography, emphasizing on the relation of photography with painting and sculpture, will be presented at PHOTOFAIRS|Shanghai and Fine Art Asia in September and October. Recently I am doing some research and try to make new possibilities in my works. Let’s see how is going on. In the ten years, I hope to constantly provide Digital Pictorial Photography richer content and meaning, and diverse presentation methods.

Archana Aneja (born in India living in USA) We often forget to pursue our dreams as we find ourselves simply following the norms and imprisoned within various perceived social, cultural, and prejudicial expectations. However, if we want to live, and not to merely exist, it is vital that we listen to our heart and ignite our passions. We need to push our limits, break the traditional boundaries so that we can maximize our potential and realize our dreams. Having had the unique opportunity to live, study and work as an Architectural Designer in the United States, Germany and India and travel across most of Europe, Archana was able to learn from artistically enriching inter-cultural experiences. Despite the diversity, she observed a binding thread for most people – the pursuit of happiness, love and peace. Archana uses this universal language of art and design to express my emotions and feelings, without any constraints. Grooving to her favorite music, she uses bright, bold palettes, (thanks to her Indian genes), heavily textured layers, acrylic colors, resin and mixed media to create contemporary art and sculpture representing life itself.

My motto for life and career - “Push your boundaries and Let Life Flow!” – is reflected in my artwork.

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards? 

Several of my pieces have been nominated in different categories for the Global Art Awards this year. I am completely ecstatic about this. The nominations include categories like Textile Art, Sculpture, Innovative Art, Mixed Media and Newcomer. After successfully having made it to the Global Art Awards top three finalists in Textile Art last year, we are back once again hoping to win more hearts and getting the visibility our creative projects deserve.

My nominated art pieces like My Soul Speaks, Harmony, Mixed Media, comprise ofvibrant, bold palettes, heavily textured layers, acrylic colors, resin and mixed media to create contemporary art and sculpturerepresenting my personal life experiences. 

Also nominated is our Clothing line - Let Life Flow. The marriage of beautiful Art and Design is a win-win for everyone involved. Let Life Flow is a result of two creative friends Archana Aneja (Textile Artist) and Sumita Bhojwani (Designer/Owner KalaXpress) merging their soulful passions. This combination has resulted in some dazzling and unique statement pieces. Each garment is patterned and detailed using original and exquisite Abstract Art that cannot be replicated. The style is contemporary, sophisticated and yet quite comfortable.Free spirited, vibrant, sculptural and full of life, each piece has a mesmerizing quality to it. How would you describe yourself? And your artwork?

I am a creative soul. I go with the flow of life. I live in the present and every morning is a fresh start. I don’t like to plan ahead. I accept things as they unravel and I am often content with the results (sometimes driving my close ones insane due to my rationalization). My art is a true extension of me. My art is based on the motto: Break your boundaries and let life flow. Often it is free flowing, loud, vibrant, and shiny and an amalgam of many mixed media, which come together to form a harmonious whole.

Where do you get your inspiration? 

My personal life is my biggest inspiration. I was born in India and grew up in a very small town. My parents worked hard to give me a comfortable childhood and world-class education. I was always artistically inclined and won several awards in this field as I was growing up. My interest in sketching, painting and visual arts led to a Masters degree in Architecture. Professionally working as an architectural designer in USA for over a decade further enhanced my interest in color, design and composition. A few years ago I moved to Europe and had the chance to immerse myself in the rich cultural and artistic history there. With my spouse supporting my creative endeavor, I decided to take the plunge and make art my full time commitment. I find inspiration in ups and downs of my everyday life, in societal issues, in nature, in motherhood, in architecture, and in my rich Indian heritage. 

Can you tell us what your 'Before I Die' is?

‘Before I Die’ I would like that art is treated as a serious career choice and artists are given the credit they truly deserve.  The journey from a small Indian town to where I stand today has been an amazing one. Most often, the choice of choosing art as a full time profession or means of livelihood is hard for people to digest. I’ve often been questioned about leaving a secure 9-5 job to pursue my passion. I sincerely hope to continue on this path till the day I die and hope that my dedication and commitment inspires many more women and men to do the same.

How does it make you feel that you are a nominee for the Global Art Awards?

The new artistic style that I presented by drawing and the accuracy of the work and be comprehensive and tells the panorama of history.

How would you react if you win a Global Art Award at the Armani Dubai Burj Khalifa surrounded by international Press and the Elite from the Art World?

It is an unforgivable joy that I culminated in this event which will make me enter history from the Emirates Gate.

Where do you see your art going in ten years?

To bring the civilizations of our Arab homeland through my paintings to the world to the latest art methods and to be the best ambassador for the acquaintance of the civilizations of peoples. 

Best exhibition ever participated in…?

The execution of two walls of the Baghdad International Airport in the main hall reflects the history of Mesopotamia and Iraqi Airways.

YuanChi Chang Illustrator from Taiwan - her creations will make you feel touched.

YuanChi, born in 1994 and living in Taiwan. She became a full time illustrator since her first picture book that was published in 2017. Most of her works are painted with watercolor.

"I love the texture of paint and papers. I often draw young women, cute animals, and beautiful landscape."

YuanChi tells us that people feel that her artworks are full of warmth, therefore, she decided to create more affecting illustrations, and write inspiring stories.

Besides, she is also a cat lover, she has two adorable cats, they often show up in her works.

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards?

“Heartbreaking” is an illustration about a woman filled with sadness. I thought of this scene once I was also really sad. I don’t feel like to do anything or going anywhere, just wanted to lie on bed forever. Fortunately, cats are also a kind of animal which can sleep whole day, their accompany made me less lonely. It was sad, but warm and peaceful.

How does it make you feel that you are a nominee for the Global Art Awards?

It is exciting! It’s really a happy thing that my artworks are liked.

What are you looking forward to it most at the Global Art Awards Ceremony?

I’d like to know more artists from world, and I wish I can let more people know about my country, Taiwan.

How would you react if you win a Global Art Award at the Armani Dubai Burj Khalifa surrounded by international Press and the Elite from the Art World?

I must be shocked! I think I will cry.

How would you describe yourself? And your artwork?

I think me and my artworks are alike, we have harmless appearance, but contained complicated emotions inside.

What drives you? 

I like to draw things since I was a baby, it’s my favorite thing, so I wish I could become a professional. Also, my family gave me a lot of supports, I wish I could make them proud. And the most important thing is, I have stories to tell.

What is your definition of art?

Creations which make people feel touched.

Where do you get your inspiration?

My characters are based by me, my pets, or people I knew. My stories are about things I’ve met or heard. And I capture beautiful designs from some famous brands.

My favourite Artist of all time is?

Hayao Miyazaki

How do you deal with artist's block?

I think regular working is good for artists, with good spirits, we can create better artworks. I’m still working on it.

Where do you see your art going in ten years?

I think I will write a lot more story books. And I’d like to show my artworks to the world, not only in Taiwan.

Can you tell us what you have going on right now?

I am trying to publish a new picture book by crowd funding. Apart from this, there are some cases cooperating with brands and social institutions.

Can you tell us what your 'Before I Die' is?

Before I die, I want to try parachute jumping from an airplane.

I know my artwork is finished when…?

When I couldn’t find any place to paint.

Best Commissioned artwork ever done was…?

There’s a children’s book commissioned by a famous publisher, the story is about an older cat which want to throw away the younger cat, but they finally become good friends. I like it because the story is warm but naughty, and the publisher gave me a lot of freedom to work on the paintings.

Which are your favorite artists?

I love animation artists like Hayao Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai, their works are epic.

Also, I love impressionism artists like Monet or Renoir, their paintings are about daily life, but beautiful and touching.

Greatest achievements so far…?

I’ve wrote a story called “Mon-Mon and his dinosaur friends”, which is about how to understand people who are different from ourselves. It’s telling some serious society issues, but it’s cute enough to let people accept.

Self-taught artist Aarti Buxani (May 1978, India). Creates art in various forms like wax carvings, fiber sculptures, best out of waste life size sculptures, Paintings of Shri yantra (an ancient, 1000 year old geometrical pattern designed for meditation happiness and fortune) made by using vintage text papers, are all handmade by Aarti. With an experience of 30years she tends to create outside the stereotypical ideas of what makes art.

Her artwork usually talks about recycle, reuse and reduce by creating eco friendly art along with a strong message to the universe so that our children and the coming future grows up with a wide vision of what society has been battling against.

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards

A True Warrior Resonates that his heart stands for his courage more than his mind and sword. His heart takes action not because he hates what is in front of him but because he loves what is behind him, It’s a tribute to all such warriors who have put their heart over head, yet standing tall, “A Warrior’s Heart over Head expresses gratitude, love and a butterfly symbolizing peace. 

I have Built trash Into an artistic treasure by using recycled products from both my sons mechanical devices, discarded watches, clocks, bicycle parts, wires, used fibers, papers etc. 

It took me a long time to sculpt this masterpiece but it enriched me with a lifetime of fulfillment as the sculpture talks about universal love and eco art at the same time.

This sculpture has been projected in the TEATRO BOND art and fashion theatre in India

How does it make you feel that you are a nominee for the Global Art Awards

“Well, this Is a very nice time! Congratulations to (all the) other nominees. It has been a massive year of interesting work as I have had few commissioned artworks in Dubai before and some more coming up. I am very humbled to be considered as a nominee for Global Art Awards 2018. 

Along with International recognition, GAA platform simultaneously boosts up my spirit to build a successful career, I’m so prepared for this awards season as it has helped me build my strategies in a way full of fun, Interesting and Innovative ideas. It’s a great feeling seeing people engaging with my work process and watching my submissions roll in for votes. Gratitude!

What are you looking forward to it most at the Global Art Awards Ceremony?

Accolades and Achievements are always a treasure for lifetime, we all wish them. A memorable experience, meeting art lovers from different array of life and being a part of this ceremony will be an absolute honor to me.

How would you react if you win a Global Art Award at the penthouse of the FIVE Hotel Palm Jumeirah Dubai

 I will definitely feel honored and blessed with joy. I have been working hard with my Art from my heart since a young age for more than 30 years now. My hands have created massive and Immense art work which I have lost a count on. Like my sculptures, it’s a block, until I carve it, similarly with limitless hard work I have carved my artistic path and now while walking on it to receive the Global Art Award, A woman like me will only feel eternally blessed.

Loving my work, working on daily basis to boost my believe muscle drives me and Inspires myself when I look back at my creations 

What is your definition of art?

Art and love is the same thing. The more we explore the more challenges we face but yet we love it, if mishandled we tend to lose ourselves. Any form of art washes away the dust of our daily life. It’s a meditation to me.

What is your greatest Inspiration?

My greatest Inspiration comes from the smallest thoughts 

How have you encouraged the grow of your own artist profession?

I am currently collaborated with Global Art Agency which has helped me grow on an International platform. I do have live art blogs on my paintings.                                                                                                                                    

Where do you see your art going in ten years? 

My art should carry on in the children I teach. I see it as the future. My art works will definitely be showcased in Art Basel and Frieze in the coming years. My biggest challenge to myself is that, it should be projected in a museum for its rewarding message.

 Can you tell us what you have going on right now?

A group exhibition with DDneroy gallery in September (Mumbai). A solo exhibition In India in December (Pune). Current Commissioned orders for Shri yantra paintings. Work in process of constructing A recycled eco sculpture of an animal “A unicorn Rhinocerous’’ (for Art Fiar). Working for upcoming Dubai Art Fair 2019 (Dubai). Working for upcoming GAA art Fair. Painting lessons to children and women

‘Before I Die’, I want to live each day by helping or by being an inspiration to someone and not leave anything undone.

It was in April 2018 when I was applauded with praises from the Indian President’s wife for my painting of an Elephant Goddess with chalked animals on it depicting peace, happiness, spirituality and progress.

The artist who took art to another level. Who were insane about Art; Vincent Van Gogh, S.H. Gaza and Michelangelo.

Heikedine Günther "Art does not reflect the visible, but makes visible."

Heikedine Günther was born in East Westfalia in 1966. She grew up in a rural area surrounded by her large family. Nature and the domestic garden provided her playgrounds. When she was 16 years of age Günther met the charismatic artist Joseph Beuys in Kassel. She took part in the project 7000 Oak Trees at Documenta 7 in Kassel (1982). After leaving school she attended Manhattanville College in New York and then furthered her education at the HFBK in Hamburg studying under Werner Büttner and Franz Erhart Walther. Simultaneously she attended as a guest student in Kassel under Martin Kippenberger’s supervision.

1991, directly after the “turnaround”, the artist moved to Berlin. During her time there she worked in various creative areas and painted figuratively. In 2004 she painted her first imagination of her inner core. Until today Günther is dedicated to the topic of the core (self). In 2009 the artist moved to Switzerland, where she lives and works both in Basel and near Lucerne. In 2015 the artist decided to dedicate herself full time to art again and to bring the Kern as a universal symbol into the world. Günther has always worked artistically, but she felt the importance to bring the message of her work to the public. Especially in a hectic time like nowadays the return to the (inner) core is of a particular need. Since then, the artist has created hundreds of artworks and participated in a considerable number of exhibitions and art fairs in an international context. All her works are professionally archived. The artist herself is a collector of Tribal Art and silk Ikat textiles from Usbekistan and Russia. Besides Günther also engages herself with garden architecture-, furniture- and product design. The artist also brings together more than 20 years of knowledge about and work with medieval manuscripts and rare books.

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards?

All of my Kern Paintings start with a gold-primed canvas ground that serves as a reflective surface, in the following process I apply three to seven layers of paint. The diptych "Kern No. 334, 335" displays two cores in a frame each. They are turned towards each other, but separated through the space in between the canvas. The cores represent the yearning for life and love, as well as the melancholy about separation. Water as a life-giving element takes up this symbol. The sky and the light stand for freedom, who rest over the yearning for life as an unbounded horizon. The diptych is painted with 21 different, hand-mixed blue tones that contain various oil colors and pigments. The blue of the sky and the sea is the color of unfathomability and infinity. Underneath the the blue, colors range from red to orange and deep violet.

How does it make you feel that you are a nominee for the Global Art Awards?

I am very happy and honoured to be nominated for the Global Art Awards. For me it is the personal breakthrough of a horizon to show my work in the United Arab Emirates.

How would you describe yourself? And your artwork? What drives you?

I am a German artist who lives and works in Switzerland. I devote myself with full energy and time to my art. In my work I explore the theme, symbol and form of the Kern (core). With the Kern and its inexhaustible potential to create an individual process of growth, the origin of life and the ever-recurring question of when and under which conditions this Kern begins to unfold. I am inspired by philosophy and history as well as by antique art, introducing the nimbus or the mandorla – a divine symbol – in my works. This sign can be found in all religions and cultures. I want the Kern to be seen as a universal symbol as same as I want to leave something behind that lasts longer than my life.

What is your definition of art?

"Art does not reflect the visible, but makes visible." (Paul Klee)

Where do you get your inspiration?

I take my inspiration from all religions and cultures of the world. As well as philosophy, science and nature. For example, I am fascinated by the Shiva Lingam stone from India, forms of solar systems, the Nimbus or the Mandorla, but also quite ordinary "natural" forms such as a potato, a rice grain or a bean.


Can you tell us what you have going on right now?

I work 8-10 hours a day in my studio. I paint pictures for exhibitions, gather materials for large projects, search for art historians and curators to write about my work. The next big project deals with the golden fleece, the Fur of Chrysomel from Greek mythology. I'm also interested in the connection between art and mathematics, so I'm currently developing a vector space with a sacral point on a mathematical basis.


Best Commissioned artwork ever done was…?

One of the biggest and well-known Mark Rothko collectors from the USA commissioned me to sell him some of my paintings. He immediately bought 5 works, although he had just seen one of them. I sent the paintings to the USA and he sent me in return pictures where you could see my works hanging on the wall in his house. That was a very overwhelming moment for me.


Best exhibition ever participated in…?

The best exhibition was my solo show at the Art Paris Art Fair at the Grand Palais Paris, where Switzerland was last year the guest of honor. My work could be seen in the renown Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper and in the Swiss Tagesschau news on TV. 

Also, the fair resulted in a participation in a very well curated group exhibition at the CAC Meymac in France. There my works are still displayed until October.

Which are your favorite artists?

My favorite artists are Anish Kapoor, James Turrell and Anselm Kiefer.

Maurice van Tilburg Glimne (Amsterdam, Netherlands) has always been passionate about drawing and creating my own world. The art works he creates are based on personal reflections, the desire for expressive painting and a drive to continuously reinvent himself by exploring new concepts and techniques. The conceptual reflections are useful to deal with challenges in his ‘other’ role as a senior manager in the financial services industry.

The Hidden Sacrifice concept that is nominated at the Global Art Awards is like many of his concepts part of my personal learning; my meaningful journey. It relates to his exploration of the relationship between humans and animals - he says.

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards?

Starting from a wonderment about the way animals and animal products are a normalised part of everyday consumption, I investigate drivers and patterns influencing my own and human behavior.

I use parchment as key material for the art works. Parchment has been the 'paper' used for some centuries now by monks and book copiers. Before actually starting the creation, I prepare the parchment in accordance with ancient rituals as described in religious literature like Quran and Bible. Once all preparation is done I paint, cut and burn the parchment until it has the right shape and form. The parchment objects are presented in ‘glass bell miniature worlds’, combined with other objects that were part of my journey.

The specific art work nominated is from the Hidden Sacrifice series and is called ‘Protective Mantles’.

How would you react if you win a Global Art Award at the Armani Dubai Burj Khalifa surrounded by international Press and the Elite from the Art World?

The Hidden Sacrifice series that is nominated finds its origin on reflections of the spiritual role of mankind on this planet. And these art works reference old religious books from the Middle East and more specifically the story of Abraham. So these art works to be rewarded at this exhibition would feel like a homecoming celebration.

What drives you? 

My key objective is to become a more beautiful person. I use experiences of frustration, pressure and stress as signals of where I could learn important things about myself. It triggers my journey to learn more by reflecting and researching and it materialises through the creation of art works.

What is your definition of art?

Art is both beauty and pity. It requires beauty as it is an aesthetic expression, where the artist uses craft to transform his or her feelings in appealing creations. But if art were only an appealing aesthetic effort to woo the audience it would be no more than good design. In order for it to be art it needs to be connected to the emotions, the ‘pain’ and the meaningful journey of the artist.

Nowadays distance between artist and audience is large, and development of art goes faster than the related knowledge of the art-lover. The question is if and how to bridge that increasing distance, especially when art aims to convey a certain message. This is why I wish to entice the viewer through my 'magic' objects, making them engage in an exploration to understand the meaning of the object. The stories of the objects are kept a secret to allow sufficient space for the viewer's imagination.

How do you deal with artist's block?

I travel a lot and I always bring small papers and a few pencils. With these I make small drawings. These quick drawings allow me to keep experimenting with new ideas and to keep building my palette of patterns and colors. The smallest of the drawings I give away as original business cards and the larger I post as street art for anyone to find. So basically I give the original drawings away which forces me to keep making new, and remain focused and productive.

Irmin Jenni Bernstädt (06.08.1976 in Wiesbaden, Germany) always had an affinity for photography. She is fascinated being a creative and not only using a camera for making technical perfect pictures. Her art is a conceptual- art photography. One of the most crucial aspects is finding matter that I want to explore or capture. Mostly I go out in nature, experimenting with commonplace situations. So I photograph the harmless sky, a harmless puddle or ice and begin to capture abstract effects like reflections, shadows, colors, patterns and textures. I also create a egg-whipped-Art. 

Tell us about your nominated art piece for the Global Art Awards?

The nominated art piece is a conceptual one. I experiment with ice-puddles. I took a picture of it and transformed in an abstract-conceptual art. Ordinary in particular, showing the hidden perfection and beauty of nature in a special way. This is my attention.

How would you react if you win a Global Art Award at the Armani Dubai Burj Khalifa surrounded by international Press and the Elite from the Art World?

It will be a overwhelming feeling and will give me the chance to show my work to a interested audience. 

How would you describe yourself? And your artwork?

I am a cheerful person, laugh with pleasure. My family is very important to me. I love to be in nature, I am creative, emotional and emphatically. I like cooking especially for friends. My artwork is a passion with which I balance out my everyday life and the chance to show my point of view. 

Where do you get your inspiration? 

I get my inspiration in my everyday life or in nature. Commonplace situations where transformed in art.

I am inspired by nature and its organic forms and paint intuitively without any formal training, rarely having a specific image in my mind. Rather, I allow my imagination to take over creating scenes that may be landscapes or abstract perceptions of another world.

With each painting, I have unique and continuous communication during the process of creation and continuously interpret it to offer the abstract energy of color an environment that not only is an emotional outlet, but may ultimately provide a sense of joy and beauty to the viewer.

How does it make you feel that you are a nominee for the Global Art Awards?
I was extremely surprised to hear about the nomination, and am grateful, honored and humbled to be in the company with renowned international artists.

How would you describe yourself? And your artwork?
Because of my synaesthetic perception, my inner world has always been colorful. When I had the chance to work in a professional studio four years ago, I immediately felt an extreme joy of expressing my sense of beauty on the canvas. As I have no formal art education, rather I let my instincts guide me and can paint freely expressing the energy I feel about a particular artwork.

What drives you? 
Both the challenge and joy of painting makes me feel more alive and present than doing anything else. Also, I believe that the unconscious mind offers a symphony of colors that I often blend in many layers giving my art a sense of depth and freedom.

What is your definition of art?
In my art I want to provide a sense of harmony and elation by integrating and merging opposites by being bold and graceful, light and dark, detailed and abstract as this is my perception of our natural and unpredictable world.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I find inspiration everywhere I go, often in nature, as I love fluid, organic shapes that represent change as the only constant in life is change. However, most of the inspiration is within me as I dream of images and colors that have a need to come alive on the canvas.
